Traditional Rural Games held in Satkhira

The spirit of Victory Day came alive in Shyamnagar as young and elderly villagers gathered to celebrate the nation’s hard-won freedom through traditional rural games recently.

The rural sport took place at the Atulia Sohrabia Dakhil Madrasa ground buzzed with activity from morning to evening, as people of all ages joined the festivities in an atmosphere filled with joy and patriotic pride. The day-long event reflected the true essence of Victory Day by bringing history, culture, and community together in a living celebration.

Organized by the voluntary organization Utsarga with support from BARCIK, the programme aimed to introduce the younger generation to the history and significance of the Liberation War while reviving rural games that are gradually disappearing.

Speakers at the event highlighted that Victory Day should not remain limited to formal ceremonies, but should be woven into social and cultural life. Through shared play and participation, the celebration strengthened social harmony, intergenerational bonds, and a deeper sense of patriotism among participants.
