A cleanliness and awareness program was held at the T-Bandh area in Rajshahi marking International Zero Waste Day 2026. The initiative was jointly organized by the Urban Youth Council Rajshahi and SERAC Bangladesh.

Participants, including youth volunteers and members of civic organizations, carried out a riverbank clean-up, collecting plastic and other waste materials using gloves and disposal bags. The waste was later placed in designated areas.

The program also focused on raising public awareness about reducing waste, encouraging reuse and recycling, and promoting sustainable lifestyles. Local shopkeepers and pedestrians were urged to dispose of waste properly and use dustbins.

Speakers emphasized the need for everyday action to reduce plastic use and protect the environment. Participants also called for improved urban waste management and regular cleaning initiatives to ensure a cleaner, greener city.
