The session began with facilitation by BARCIK officer Biswajit Mondal and a welcome address by Associate Regional Coordinator Ramkrishna Jowardar. In his remarks, he highlighted the activities implemented over the past three months at the union level, the challenges encountered, and the strategies used to overcome these challenges.

Farmer Bhudhar Chandra Mondal, a general member of Green Coalition, said, “Since the formation of the committee, we have undertaken several initiatives, including organizing seed fairs at schools, planting palm seeds, holding dialogues to address the harmful impacts of plastic, encouraging agroecological practices at the village level, discussions on farmland protection, constructing wooden bridges with youth initiatives, and tree planting along both sides of the Bakultala–Paschim Jelekhali road.”

Yogesh Chandra Mondal, President of Green Coalition in Munshiganj Union, said, “I have personally campaigned to stop the catching of mother fish in Jelekhali Beel. We must also move forward by addressing the smaller problems in our area.”

Finally, participants identified several pressing issues in Munshiganj Union such as plastic waste pollution in canals, indiscriminate killing of native fish, illegal net setting in canals, and waterlogging in Mistripara Beel.
