“Chotto Shopno” of Varendra University organized its annual Eid gift distribution program recently at the university’s permanent campus in Rajshahi. A total of 112 children from two schools run by the organization, along with university security staff, received Eid gift packages during the colorful event.
Abdul Azim, President of Chotto Shopno, said that the Eid gift packages included vermicelli, sugar, milk, cooking oil, chickpeas, lentils, and chocolates so that the children could celebrate Eid with their families. He said, “We want these children to share the happiness of Eid with their loved ones and not feel excluded from the festivities”.
One of the students, Liza, expressed her joy after receiving the gift. She said she was very happy and grateful to the organizers, as the items would allow her family to celebrate Eid together.

Beyond distributing gifts, Chotto Shopno focuses on providing basic education, promoting moral values, and helping children grow into responsible citizens. The program also emphasizes creativity, empathy, and social responsibility among students.

Through its educational initiatives, the organization aims to expand access to learning, reduce child labor and illiteracy, and contribute to building a more educated and compassionate society.The volunteers of Chotto Shopno have pledged to bring more disadvantaged children under educational support in the future and help them achieve their dreams.
It is worth noting that the voluntary organization of Varendra University has been working for many years to support the education and social development of disadvantaged children. At different times, the organization has also collaborated with BARCIK to conduct awareness campaigns and community initiatives.
