A practical workshop on local seed collection, preservation, and organic fertilizer production was organized by Shamsunnahar of Shatbari village with BARCIK’s support. Twenty-five young and elderly women participated.
Trainer Sarma Rani demonstrated seed selection, storage, and composting using kitchen waste, manure, and fallen leaves, as well as preparation of liquid organic fertilizers.

Participant Fatema Begum said, “From now on, we will save quality seeds and use organic fertilizers, reducing costs and improving crop yields.” Representatives from BARCIK and Green Coalition exchanged ideas with participants and encouraged environmentally friendly farming practices.
