Let cloth bags be our daily companion

With the aim to mark World Environment Day 2025 with the theme “No More Plastic Pollution, Time to Stop It Now,” BARCIK organized a special program at Banbora village of Kharnai Union in Kalmakanda Upazila, Netrokona.

As part of promoting eco-friendly habits, BARCIK distributed cloth bags to four caretakers of its agroecology learning centers. Suruj Mia, the respected member of Ward 6 of Kharnai Union Parishad, attended the event as chief guest. He said, “Plastic bags are a serious threat to the environment. We must act now to limit their use. BARCIK’s effort is truly commendable.”
Through this initiative, BARCIK aims to spread the message: “Say no to plastic, let cloth bags be our daily companion.” Caretakers of the learning centers said that they would share this message locally and encourage more people to use cloth bags. This is expected to reduce plastic waste at the local level and increase environmental awareness.

BARCIK believes that small individual changes can have a big impact in the long run. Now is the time to say ‘no’ to plastic and build sustainable habits to ensure a livable planet for future generations.
