Training on women’s leadership and gender justice held in Manikgonj

A day-long training workshop was organized in Dhalai village of Nabagram Union under Sadar upazila, Manikganj, by BARCIK. The workshop was held at the house of farmer-researcher Md. Monowar Hossain.

The theme of the training centered on strengthening women’s leadership in agroecology and gender justice. A total of 25 women representatives from farmers’ and women’s organizations participated in the event.

Key topics discussed included the concept of gender, roles of men and women, women’s contributions to household economy and cost-effective work, qualities of leadership, and ways to address social inequality. The participants engaged in group discussions and presentations to deepen their practical understanding of these issues.

The training was facilitated by BARCIK officials Rasheda Akter, Beauty Rani Sarker, Rina Shikder, and Asia Akter. Additionally, BARCIK officials from the Ghior region, Subir Kumar Sarker and Shamuel Hasda, were also present and encouraged the participants throughout the session.
