A training session on eco-friendly oven construction was held at the home of Sushama Rani in Kolbari village of Burigoalini Union. The program was organized by the Majher IT Village Farmers’ Organization and involved 20 women members. BARCIK provided support for the event.
The training was conducted by Sarma Rani, coordinator of the Agricultural Neighbor Vidya Shikhan Center from Mathurapur village of Munshiganj Union. She led the discussion and demonstrated how to construct an eco-friendly oven using clay in front of the women, enabling participants to learn the technique hands-on.
While describing the process the trainer explained that using this oven saves fuel and reduces smoke in the kitchen. This oven can be made easily from local materials and it is low-cost. This oven is health-friendly, environmentally sustainable, and durable. When one woman learns this skill, it benefits her family as well as her neighbors.
Women participants shared that this technology can make cooking easier and help to protect the environment. Since it requires very little wood or fuel, it saves both time and cost. Reduced smoke ensures a healthier cooking environment, and being eco-friendly, it also contributes to forest and nature conservation. Finally, the women pledged to use the stoves in their own homes and spread the knowledge to all other women in the village.
