“Sport is not just entertainment, but also an environmental protection tool.”

A friendly football match titled Football for Climate Justice has been held in Shamnagar, Satkhira. The tree saplings were distributed among all the players, viewers and guests before the football match started at the Kalbari Barsha Resort playgrounds of Burigoalini Union on Friday (August 15th).

From the beginning of the game, the audience has seen a lot of presence and enthusiasm on the field. Non Govt. research institute BARCIK and Youth Volunteer Organization, in collaboration with the Sundarbans Students Solidarity Team (SSST) and organized by the Kalbari Sports Family, participated in the playful game Mayer Doa Enterprise vs Shreya Enterprise.

BARCIK’s Associate Regional Coordinator Ramkrishna Joardar, Manager of Barsa Resort, Biswanath Sarkar, Freedom Fighter Dr Nirapada Bain, Former UP member S.M Ruhul Amin, Assistant teacher of Darussunnat Dakhil Madrashah Ripon Mondal, Covener of this tournament MD. Shoriful Islam, Propritor of Jui Store Abdul Jolil Sardar, BARCIK’s youth organizer Sam Osman Gani who was present as the guest of honor.

Although the two teams played in an aggressive manner, the only goal of the match came from Sagor Hossain’s feet of Shreya Enterprise. At the end of the stipulated time, the results were 1-0 goals, and through this the Shreya Enterprise Gaining the Champion of the Kalbari Premier League-Season 1.

“Today’s football match is not just sports, but also the responsibility of our future, but we have played a greenery in the hands of the salivary tree, but I believe that each player will care for these saplings on the field,” the champion team captain said, “Today’s football match is a symbol of our future. Each player will take care of them. It is possible to participate in everyone. ”

Among the organizers, G.M Rajon Hossain said that the distribution of the plants as well as the plants of this tree has created a positive idea to prevent climate change in the minds of the people present in the field. At the end of the ceremony, many of us will be involved in tree planting directly in their respective homes. I am grateful to BARCIK us for helping this initiative.

The organizers also said, “As sports combine young people, it is possible to add them to the journey of sustainable future through environmentally friendly activities.”

The champion trophy was handed over to the winning team at the end of the game. The organizing committee and local dignitaries congratulated the winning team and hoped to continue such an event in the future.

All in all, the event has not only played a sports competition, but also a commitment to youth climate justification and environmental protection.
