A free medical camp was held in the Rahmatpur Colony of Garekanda, located in Satkhira town, providing much-needed healthcare services to the local underprivileged community. The day-long camp was organized on Thursday by BARCIK.

Over a hundred disadvantaged residents of Rahmatpur Colony received medical consultations from Dr. Masud Rana, who also distributed essential medicines to the patients, completely free of charge.

The inaugural session of the health camp was attended by Gazi Mahida Mizan, Program Officer of BARCIK, along with youth organizer Jahangir Alam, and members of BARCIK’s Education, Culture, and Diversity Preservation Team, including President Abdur Rahman Nirab, and members Farid, Monaim, Sifat Hossain, and Rafid Rahi, among others.

Attending in the free medical camp local resident Salma Begum expressed her gratitude, saying, “Most people in our area are poor and cannot afford proper medical care. Women especially suffer in silence due to financial constraints. Camps like this are a great help to us.”

Notably, the camp was supported by Modern Pharmacy, which voluntarily contributed 1,000 doses of antacid medication to aid the effort.

This initiative does not only brought healthcare to those in need but also highlights the importance of community-driven support and collaborative action in improving public health in marginalized urban areas.
