A health consultation and supply distribution program was organized by BARCIK with assistance from Debenair Group in the remote char areas of Harirampur Upazila, Manikganj, to ensure healthcare services for adolescent girls and women.
The organizers distributed sanitary napkins, oral saline, and essential medicines to over one hundred adolescent girls and more than two hundred families in the event which was held in Enayetpur village of Azimnagar Union. The event was presided over by UP member Jahangir Shikdar.

The discussants in the event highlighted the healthcare crisis in the area, mentioning that the absence of a permanent hospital in the remote char regions puts pregnant women, children, and the elderly at significant risk.
The people in the char area demanded to establish a modern hospital in the char and UP member Jahangir Shikdar promise to give 10 decimals of land to make the purpose successful.
However, BARCIK has long been working in Harirampur on education, healthcare, food security, and promotion of eco-friendly agriculture through practicing of agroecology. Ayub Khan, Managing Director of Debenair Group, financed the initiative and committed to supporting BARCIK’s future efforts. The char communities strongly urged government support for the improved healthcare services in the region.
