A two-day dialogue on accessing government and non-government services was held in Singair, organized by BARCIK in collaboration with Charavanga and Baimail Women’s Development Organizations.
The dialogue was moderated by BARCIK officer Asia Akter. The event featured key representatives from local government service offices, including Singair Upazila’s Assistant Officer of the Department of Women’s Affairs, Mr. Salauddin Sabuj, and Youth Development Assistant Officer, Ms. Khairun Nahar. Local women leaders including Tanzina Khanom, Sima Khanom, Karina Khanom, Parveen Akter, Runa Akter, and Iti Akter also participated.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Sabuj highlighted that every government department has specific service programs. He said, “It is important for people to know the proper procedures to access these services. Under the Department of Women’s Affairs, there are training programs, allowances, and legal support services to prevent violence against women. Communities must be aware of both the services and the steps to avail them”.

Ms. Nahar emphasized on training opportunities for youth to enhance their skills and engage in income-generating activities. Women leaders expressed that the dialogue helped them to gain important knowledge about government services, which will support their livelihoods and improve their quality of life.
